Your partner in recovery
Living with any addiction can be really tough, but it’s important to remember that change is possible! That’s often the moment when people begin seeking ways to overcome challenges like alcoholism or Alcohol Use Disorder (AUD). When you’re ready to get help, there are some key things to think about when choosing a facility or program that can truly support you in overcoming addictive behaviors and finding sobriety.
What is the availability?
When you give us a call, our friendly team will have a solid understanding of available spots right now or in the near future. While not every facility may have space, a good rehab center will gladly help you find another program or place that fits your needs. You might even discover that an Outpatient Program could be just the right option for you!
The best way to find out is to reach out to us. When you call Searidge, you can feel assured that our intake team is ready with the knowledge and experience to answer your questions. Call us at 1-888-777-0921
What makes a rehab centers program effective?
Rehab programs help individuals by combining personal and group therapy with aftercare, addressing both physical and mental parts of addiction. They focus on tailored treatment paths and create a supportive environment for ongoing recovery.
At Searidge, we recognize everyone as unique. We create customized treatment plans that involve individual and group therapies, psychological methods, and wellness options, helping you work towards a better future.
How do I know they have a good approach?
There isn’t just ONE way to address alcohol dependence, as everyone is unique.
However, we know there are proven methods to aid in overcoming alcoholism.
-
- Personalized Approach:
Successful programs are tailored to meet each individual’s needs, considering factors such as age, gender, family background, living situation, and overall health for the most effective plan.
- Personalized Approach:
-
- Ongoing Evaluation of Progress:
In a well-functioning rehab program, treatment plans should continually evolve; as we learn more about the underlying causes of addiction, programs must adjust to ensure ongoing progress.
- Ongoing Evaluation of Progress:
-
- Addressing Co-occurring Disorders:
No one intends to become an alcoholic, and effective rehab programs recognize that mental health issues frequently accompany substance abuse. Therefore, successful rehab should address both challenges. Once you identify the root cause, finding solutions becomes significantly easier.
- Addressing Co-occurring Disorders:
Do they support you after rehab ends?
Graduates from rehab often face difficulties in their first few months. Having a strong support network is crucial during this period. Our graduates enjoy an elevated rate of success because of our solid aftercare approach. We know many graduates want to resume their lives, so an effective program should be flexible, easy to access, and provide support as needed.
There are many online and in-person support meetings available. It’s important to choose a program and group that match the treatment methods used during rehab.
For instance, someone who did well in a non-12 step program may feel uncomfortable in a 12-step meeting; they might feel anxious or fear relapse without a 12-step plan. We offer comprehensive support plans that align with our treatment programs, proven, trusted, and effective.
What is the cost and is it covered by MSI?
We offer 30, 60, and 90-day residential programs and flexible outpatient options. Costs will vary depending on the length and type of program chosen.
MSI does not cover rehab costs, but some employee health plans and private insurance may help. We provide payment plans and can assist with financing. Contact us to explore your options.

Halifax, Nova Scotia
The Mi’kmaq name for Halifax is Kjipuktuk, pronounced: “che-book-took”. The name means “Great Harbour” in the Mi’kmaq language.
Residents and visitors to Halifax are sure to enjoy a stroll along the harbours shoreline, visiting one of the many shops featuring curated and artisan works, gourmet foods, world-class restaurants and seasonal festivals, concerts and performances.

Searidge Sponsored SMART Recovery® Meetings
SMART Recovery® is an abstinence-based, not-for-profit organization with a sensible self-help program for people having problems with drinking and using. It includes many ideas and techniques to help you change your life from one that is self-destructive and unhappy to one that is constructive and satisfying.
SMART Recovery® is not a spin-off of Alcoholics Anonymous. No one will label you an “alcoholic”, an “addict” or “diseased” nor “powerless”, and if you do not believe in a religion or spirituality, that’s fine, too. We teach common sense self-help procedures designed to empower you to abstain and to develop a more positive lifestyle. When you succeed at following our approach, you may graduate from the program, or you may stay around to help others.
Searidge Alcohol Rehab offers a variety of aftercare programs to our alumni to help ensure their sobriety is sustained. SMART Recovery® group meetings have proven to be incredibly beneficial to our Searidge alumni. SMART Recovery® meetings give our graduate residents the tools and support they require to remain sober.
All SMART Recovery® meetings are held on Zoom please go to our SMART Recovery® Nova Scotia website at https://www.smartrecoveryns.com to learn more or sign up to attend a meeting.

“The Marguerite Centre fosters a healthier society by supporting women recovering from addiction through a long-term residential program focusing on the healing of mind, body and spirit.”
We accomplish this by:
- Providing shelter and other fundamental living needs in a safe and tranquil residential setting conducive to healing.
- Meeting the individual needs and goals of the women through our 24-hour in-house support.
- Providing a holistic program so that women feel empowered to understand their addiction(s) and to create their own path to recovery and healthy living.
- To provide outreach services to women who have completed the residential program.

“I am a therapist with over 30 years experience in the field of Addictions. I work with people struggling with alcohol, drug and gambling problems and offer tobacco cessation services. I also work with family members in their recovery process. As an experienced therapist, I assist clients in addressing these issues by utilizing a “Biological, Psychological, Social, Spiritual” Model of recovery. As a client, you can expect to develop personal insight into the problems substance use is creating, while making positive change in your life. This is accomplished in a safe, caring and collaborative environment.”
