Searidge Foundation’s Alcohol Rehab is committed to helping individuals from New Brunswick overcome alcohol use disorders and regain control of their lives. With our recovery and healing program, patients receive the resources and tools needed to break free from the destructive effects of alcohol and focus on what truly matters – living a happy, healthy life. By taking the necessary steps towards recovery, patients can take control of their future and make the most of every moment. Searidge is just a short ferry ride away, and our driver is available to pick up patients anywhere in New Brunswick, making it easy to access the care and support needed for a successful recovery.
At Searidge Alcohol Rehab, our relationship with residents does not end when they graduate from our residential alcohol rehab addiction treatment program. We believe that maintaining lifelong recovery after rehab requires consistent support, guidance, and care, which is why our Aftercare program is one of the most comprehensive and accessible in the country.
What you can expect from the dedicated team at Searidge.
Our primary weapon in the fight against addiction is rooted in behavioural therapy. CBT, RBT, REBT and Emotional and Motivational interviewing are trusted and proven methods of treating the underlying issues that can cause addictive behaviours.
We know that no one chooses addiction, any more than we choose the problems that cause addictive behaviour. We do know how to help you identify, face and eventually overcome them though.
We have more than 50 years of combines experience in treating the causes of alcohol and drug addiction and our methods are rooted in therapies that just work.
Our inpatient and outpatient rehab programs for alcoholism provide residents with several different treatment options.
Psychotherapy, often referred to as ‘Talk Therapy’, is a common approach that involves talking. In this process, an individual will share their challenges and experiences with a trained psychologist, addictions counsellor or therapist. Sessions can be individual, in groups, or with family. Topics may cover daily struggles, ongoing problems, and past traumas, which help the psychologist or therapist understand the client’s current state of mental health.
For those dealing with alcoholism, a psychologist can help them understand cravings and stay focused on recovery.
Psychotherapy can last several weeks or months, building a trusting and confidential relationship between the psychologist and the patient.
Psychotherapy helps clinicians understand their clients and find solutions. Different methods include psychoanalysis, behavioural therapy, cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT), Rational Emotional Therapy (REBT) a branch of CBT and integrative or holistic therapy.
Our goal is for our residents to achieve full sobriety without the use of medication, but we understand that this can be difficult for some. When suitable, we use medications to help residents manage cravings and other needs. Therapy is adjusted to ensure medications are used correctly and not misused.
Our doctors and therapists are skilled in using these medications and can tailor our therapy to maximize their effectiveness. In these cases where medicinal assistance is indicated our doctor can prescribe Naltrexone, Methadone, Suboxone, and other effective medications to help control cravings.
Searidge Alcohol Rehab offers Alternative & Holistic Therapies For Alcohol Addiction and supporting recovery. Our methods promote relaxation and enhance focus and mental clarity. We provide you with the skills needed for success, preparing you for a better future during and after your stay.

Life on the “outside” can be scary, but when you are supported by a group of people who, just like you, have made it through to the other side the light at the end of the tunnel burns clear and bright.
By providing all of our graduates with access to online Zoom meetings we know that we are giving them an invaluable tool that they can access everyday, from their tablet, computer or phone!
We also make sure that you have access to your addictions counsellor, we provide four 1 hour sessions, and should you choose to continue you can choose to extend your therapy sessions, we offer affordable and flexible plans for anyone who wants to leverage the power of having your own personal addictions counsellor!
Another tool you will be given is our daily check in, communication AND inspirational asset, Recovery Path App. Just like our Aftercare meetings we make sure you are set up and know how to use this great asset before you even leave us.
Check in with your support partner, log how you are doing and there is even a wider community you can choose to connect to. Oh and your family and friends are not left out in the cold either because there are totally free freinds and family versions they can download for their phones. Community for everyone who needs it, and really don’t we all need to feel connected and supported?
We use a holistic approach to address the needs of the whole person in our treatment programs. We incorporate scientific and research-based treatments, evidence-based psychotherapies, pharmacotherapy, and natural holistic therapies such as yoga, mindfulness, and meditation practices. Our goal is to help you achieve long-term sobriety and a healthier, happier life.
At Searidge Alcohol Rehab, we leave no stone unturned in our efforts to help each person overcome their substance dependence issues. We are committed to helping you understand your addiction and guiding you toward a successful recovery.

New Brunswick is a beautiful province with stunning landscapes, pristine bodies of water and home to the beautiful Bay of Fundy. New Brunswick is practically begging to be explored, its vast array of provincial parks and campgrounds would satisfy even the most experienced outdoor explorer. New Brunswick’s citizens are some of the friendliest, caring, and most hospitable people the Maritimes have to offer.
With everything as beautiful as it is, addiction still has the power and ability to destroy lives and tear apart families. It can cause individuals to commit acts they would never dream of while in a sober state. Alcohol addiction affects a good portion of the globe. New Brunswick is not exempt from the same problems that even the most populated provinces experience, such as alcohol addiction.
With a population around 830 000 and growing, New Brunswick boasts more than 8 universities and colleges, has thriving farming, forestry, and fishery industries, and has a very healthy tourism and cultural assets sector. No wonder they have been experiencing a population explosion the past few years.
Anyone who has had the opportunity to visit New Brunswick will know about their beautiful natural settings, camping, hiking and walking trails. But residents also know about the wonderful offerings on hand when they visit the capital city of New Brunswick, Fredericton.
Fredericton’s historic streets are lined with unique artisan shops, cafes, restaurants, theatre and fashion sectors.
The largest city in NB is Moncton. Moncton’s retail sector has become one of the most important pillars of the local economy. Major retail projects such as Champlain Place in Dieppe and the Wheeler Park Power Centre on Trinity Drive have become major destinations for locals and tourists alike. Tourism also plays an important role in the economy of Moncton, and, historically owes its origins to the presence of two natural attractions, the tidal bore of the Petitcodiac River, and the optical illusion of Magnetic Hill.
The Magnetic Hill area includes a golf course, a water park, a zoo, and an outdoor concert facility. In 2010 an entertainment complex opened at Magnetic Hill with a Casino and Hotel.

SMART Recovery® is an abstinence-based, not-for-profit organization with a sensible self-help program for people having problems with drinking and using. It includes many ideas and techniques to help you change your life from one that is self-destructive and unhappy to one that is constructive and satisfying.
SMART Recovery® is not a spin-off of Alcoholics Anonymous. No one will label you an “alcoholic”, an “addict” or “diseased” nor “powerless”, and if you do not believe in a religion or spirituality, that’s fine, too. We teach common sense self-help procedures designed to empower you to abstain and to develop a more positive lifestyle. When you succeed at following our approach, you may graduate from the program, or you may stay around to help others.
Searidge Alcohol Rehab offers a variety of aftercare programs to our alumni to help ensure their sobriety is sustained. SMART Recovery® group meetings have proven to be incredibly beneficial to our Searidge alumni. SMART Recovery® meetings give our graduate residents the tools and support they require to remain sober.
All SMART Recovery® meetings are held on Zoom please go to our SMART Recovery® Nova Scotia website at https://www.smartrecoveryns.com to learn more or sign up to attend a meeting.
